This self-paced continuing education offering is intended to allow registered nurses to experience three integrative modalities for chronic pain, realizing their application and value to address underlying dis-regulation processes in the body for patients, and to improve their self-care strategies.
Roxane Chan, PhD, RN is an assistant professor in the College of Nursing at Michigan State University. She is a board certified advanced holistic nurse, a licensed massage therapist and a Reiki Master. Her educational preparation, practice, teaching and research experience include patients with chronic health conditions and health care professionals caring for these individuals. Throughout her nursing career, Chan’s passion and her focus on health promotion and risk reduction provides a high level of expertise in this area.
This course complies with the requirements for continuing nursing education and specifically satisfies the requirement for one (1.0) contact hour of pain and pain symptom management for relicensure in the state of Michigan. Continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours are provided by Michigan State University College of Nursing (OH-294, 08/01/2018), an approved provider of CNE by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
