This self-paced continuing education offering is intended to provide registered nurses with current, evidence-based content to improve the management of pain. This course will identify challenges and opportunities in pain management. Further, it will describe evidence-based practice changes that can be implemented to improve patient comfort.
This program complies with the RN licensure renewal requirement in the state of Michigan and provides 1.33 contact hour of CNE in pain and pain symptom management. To qualify for CNE for this offering, participants must complete the learning activities of the course and obtain an 80% pass rate on the quiz.
- Successful participant will receive a certificate for 1.33 continuing nursing contact hours directly after submission of the quiz.
The primary author of this course is Susan Holmes Walker, PhD, RN. Her educational preparation and work with patients and colleagues on the adult acute pain service at University of Michigan Health System provides expertise in this area.
This independent study activity is provided by the Michigan State University College of Nursing will be available to learners for two years, until August 2017.
