Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist
The program is designed to prepare Advanced Practice Nurses for the role of Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) with a population focus on adult-gerontology. This program is delivered in a completely online format with internship experiences completed close to home.*
This program prepares graduate nurses who are clinical experts skilled in providing care for adults across the lifespan. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be ready to assume leadership roles in healthcare settings as advanced direct care provider, consultant, leader, collaborator, and educator. Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialists advance the quality of care by leading practice change innovations, integrating evidence-based practice guidelines, and collaborating with members of the healthcare team to improve patient outcomes.
Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialty Certification exam (ANCC).
The MSU College of Nursing Post Masters programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
