Preparing Advanced Practice Nurses for National Certification

The College of Nursing offers a Post Master’s certificate program for students who have earned a master’s degree in nursing and want to gain additional specialized knowledge to prepare for national certification in another specialty.

The certificate program is designed primarily for nurses who desire to join a clinical focus in:

Adult/Gerontological Nurse Practitioner
Family Nurse Practitioner
Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist

The Post Master’s certificate program is open to Registered Nurses who hold a master’s degree in nursing from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Corporation (NLNAC).

The Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist Post Masters certificate is an online program.

How to Apply

Prospective students must submit a separate application to both the College of Nursing and the University. Application details for each Post Masters program can be found under the admissions link.
