REQUIREMENTS & PREREQUISITES
A number of prerequisite foundational courses must be completed in advance of admission to the Accelerated
Second Degree program. In addition, candidates must have completed Human Anatomy 350, Physiology 250 or 310 and Nursing 300 within ten years of program start.

Human Anatomy - ANTR 350*
Human Physiology - PSL 250 or PSL 310*
Pathophysiology - NUR 300*
Microbiology - MMG 201
General Chemistry - CEM 141
Statistics - STT 200
Nutrition - HNF 260
Introductory Psychology - PSY 101
Lifespan Human Development - FCE 225
Prospective students are not required to complete prerequisite coursework at Michigan State University. (If you wish to enroll in a prerequisite course at MSU, you should submit a MSU Lifelong Education application for study. Former MSU students should submit a Readmission Application to the MSU Registrar’s Office.)
To determine if coursework you have completed (or plan to complete) at an accredited college or university will satisfy prerequisite coursework for the Accelerated Second Degree Program, please access the Transfer MSU website. Courses listed as MSU equivalents on this website will satisfy the Accelerated Second Degree prerequisite requirements. (Please note that admission to the program requires that you have earned a grade of 2.0 or higher in each of the science prerequisite courses.)
If the specific course you have completed is not listed on the Transfer MSU website, please complete the following steps:
Complete the attached Prerequisite Course Review Form. Attach a copy of the course syllabus and attach an official description of the course from a program catalog, web-site or other institutional document.
Submit the College of Nursing Course Review request with supporting documentation to:
