CLINICAL FACULTY PRACTICE
The College of Nursing at Michigan State University is committed to improving the health of the nation,
which requires translation of knowledge to patient care. To that end, nursing faculty have the opportunity
to maintain a clinical practice as part of their role in the college. A distinguishing characteristic of our
Faculty Practice is the belief that teaching, research, practice, and service must be closely integrated
to achieve excellence.
Some college faculty are credentialed as Family Nurse Practitioners and practice in the Michigan State
University Family Health Care Center. This clinic is a collaborative venture between the College of Nursing
and the Department of Family Medicine in the College of Human Medicine. The collaborative efforts of our
two colleges have resulted in an integrated practice that enhances opportunities for interdisciplinary care,
research and education within our academic setting.
The Michigan State University HealthTeam was established in 1990 and continues to grow, offering primary and specialty healthcare services to the general public. Our providers
are affiliated with the College of Human Medicine, the College of Nursing and the College of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition to patient care, our providers are
active in teaching and research.
