	Academic Programs INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS The College of Nursing strongly encourages students to take advantage of the opportunity to study abroad while at Michigan State University. Our world is becoming increasingly global and interdependent. Today nurses work with people from different racial and ethnic groups from all over the world. Understanding health beliefs and practices from different cultural groups is an important part of providing culturally competent healthcare. Study abroad provides students a chance to grow personally, learn about other people, places and cultures, and broaden their education and perspective on the world.
