Raising the bar: ACCESS Program support on Giving Tuesday went above and beyond

The numbers are in and Giving Tuesday was a success for the College of Nursing! On Nov. 30, the college raised support for the ACCESS Program, which aims to provide educationally and economically vulnerable students with the opportunity to enroll in and complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. For over 10 years, the ACCESS Program has provided the nursing workforce with culturally competent nurses. Funds raised supported the cost of tuition, tutoring, books, stethoscopes, nursing bags and miscellaneous costs outside of traditional funding. The college was able to achieve the following due to generous support for donors:

  • 106 percent of the Giving Tuesday goal was met, $10,605 in total.
  • A 35 percent increase in number of Giving Tuesday donors compared to 2020.
  • Out of 62 Giving Tuesday funds at the university, the college ranked fourth in funds raised.
  • The college ranked first in funds raised for diveristy, equity and inclusion initatives at the university.
