Jackie Iseler named one of MLive's Top Nurses

Summary

Jackeline Iseler, director of the Michigan State University College of Nursing’s Clinical Nurse Specialist program, was named one of 10 honorees in the second annual MLive.com Top Nurses Awards. Iseler, the first MSU nursing faculty member to receive the award, was selected from roughly 150 nominees. She joined the college in 2011, became an assistant professor in 2017 and was named CNS program director in 2018. Her work focuses on quality improvement, evidence-based practice and topics such as combating racism in nursing and improving health outcomes through interprofessional simulation.

One College of Nursing faculty member is among 10 honorees in the second annual “MLive.com Top Nurses Awards.”

Jackeline Iseler, director of the college’s Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) program, was honored in a ceremony at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center today. She beat out roughly 150 other nominees to land on the short list of honorees and is the first MSU nursing faculty member to win the award.

“I am deeply honored to be nominated for this MLive.com Top Nurses award,” Iseler said. “It is a privilege to share this spotlight with such incredible nurses who have significantly impacted Michigan.

The awards honor “the vital role nurses play in our communities and public health,” and “celebrate the incredible impact nurses have in addressing these challenges and ensuring the well-being of our society,” according to MLive.com’s “Top Nurses” website.

Iseler joined the college in 2011 as an instructor, becoming an assistant professor in 2017 and, in 2018, director of the CNS program. She is also a 2016 graduate of the college, having earned a Post-Master’s Doctor of Nursing Practice. Iseler also sits on the board of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS), and is a 2023 recipient of the NACNS Award for Academic Faculty of the Year.

Her research uses quality improvement and evidence-based practice approaches and has covered myriad topics, from combating racism in nursing to improving health outcomes through interprofessional simulation.

“Dr. Jackie Iseler is a highly regarded CNS who demonstrates a strong commitment to quality patient care,” said Mary Lynn Davis Ajami, the college’s associate dean for academic affairs. “Her impact has broad scope across Michigan and compassionately touches many lives.  She is a bright and promising star who goes about her work with energy, dedication, and positivity.”
