Nursing Research Office

The resources and support you need to advance your research

The Nursing Research Office enhances the MSU College of Nursing's research strategic priorities by increasing research productivity and subsequent impact in focused areas of excellence in three categories:

• Symptom science and management

• Health promotion and illness prevention

• Health services research

The NRO supports MSU CON goals of remaining among the top National Institutes of Health-funded programs of nursing, expanding team science, and advancing the state of nursing science. The foundation of this support is a comprehensive range of pre- and post-award services to assist each researcher from the first steps of identifying funding opportunities and proposal development all the way through award acceptance, compliance, and project management. These supports are paired with marketing and collaboration resources to increase national visibility of the MSU College of Nursing. Staff are available in person and/or virtually during office hours; faculty and doctoral students also have 24/7 access to digital tools and resources on the CON intranet (iCON) and the CON public-facing website. These resources allow each individual to focus on the research itself knowing they are fully supported by professional administrative experts.

The NRO supports not only research development, but also professional development of current and future researchers, through:

  • • Development seminars

  • • Research seminars

  • • Research presentations

  • • Visiting scholars

  • • External mentor program

  • • Research goals review meetings

  • • Presence in the Midwest Nursing Research Society
