
Dr. Joshua Winowiecki is a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Assistant Professor, and the inaugural Director of the Center for Practice Transformation at Michigan State University. A dedicated educator and mentor, Dr. Winowiecki prepares the next generation of nurses through innovative teaching strategies, including the use of artificial intelligence in nursing education. His leadership extends beyond the classroom, promoting nurse resilience, LGBTQ+ health, and excellence in patient care.
Through his work at the CPT, Dr. Winowiecki continues to bridge research and real-world application, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across healthcare systems.
Through strong academic–clinical partnerships, the Center builds workforce capacity by strengthening registered nurse and advanced practice nurse roles, mentorship infrastructure, and workforce models. Its work integrates education, evaluation, and scholarship to advance care quality, safety, population health, and equity through responsible innovation.
