The Michigan State University College of Nursing shot up 11 spots to No. 28 in the 2026 Best BSN Programs rankings, released today. The college was ranked No. 39 in the prior rankings.
“Our rise in the rankings is proof of our faculty’s and staff's commitment to continuing to think innovatively about how we can best deliver nursing education and prepare our students for successful careers,” said Dean Leigh Small. “I am proud of the hard work our entire college community, especially our faculty, has put into this college and happy to see it reflected in the U.S. News rankings."
So far in 2025, the college has graduated 146 new nurses. The undergraduate program is well-regarded for its rigorous curriculum and clinical opportunities. Students also have access to a state-of-the-art simulation center, home to high-fidelity manikins, a birthing suite, and the largest-of-its-kind immersive room, the latter of which can project high-definition hospital environments and smells, among other scenarios.
The jump continues a trend of impressive rankings for the college’s programs, including its MSN program — which rose six spots this year — and its Nurse Anesthesiology program, which is ranked No. 41 nationally.
