The College of Nursing celebrated its latest graduating class at its Pinning Ceremony on Friday, welcoming 76 new nurses to the workforce.
The summer ceremony primarily recognizes graduates of the Accelerated BSN program, which is for students already with another undergraduate degree who pivoted to nursing. Of the 76 graduates, all but three were from the accelerated program.
Among the graduates, three received awards:
- Outstanding Student Award: Abby Baker
- Spirit Award — Detroit: Aaron Pan
- Spirit Award — East Lansing: Willow Abbott
Dean Linda Weglicki congratulated all of the new graduates.
“I am proud of what our BSN graduates have accomplished Weglicki said. “Nursing is one of the most challenging educational program and degrees to achieve in the United States. Our outstanding and caring students have shown a fierce commitment to their chosen career in nursing, which continues to be ranked as the most trusted profession in America. I look forward to their leadership and the impact that they will make as they enter the profession and healthcare.”
