With over 30 years immersed in pediatric primary care, my journey in nursing has been deeply fulfilling. My dedication extends beyond patient care, as I've cultivated a profound background in health policy and advocacy. Both my master's degree and doctorate in nursing were earned from the esteemed halls of the University of Iowa, solidifying my commitment to excellence in the field. Throughout my career, I've witnessed the transformative power of nursing firsthand, and it's this passion that continues to drive me forward in making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of children and families.
Career Highlights:
I was inducted as a Fellow in American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) in 2019 for my policy and advocacy work. I received an award from AANP for my state advocacy. I have twice been named the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner of the Year for Michigan NAPNAP. I was appointed by Michigan Gov Rick Snyder to a taskforce to redesign the Michigan Health Department.
