Making connections, advancing your learning
MSU Nursing Student Association
The Nursing Student Association (NSA) is Michigan State University College of Nursing's only professional student organization, fostering professional and personal development of pre-nursing and nursing students.
NSA is an excellent way to interact with fellow nursing students and faculty. The NSA provides an avenue to learn more about the College of Nursing, seek advice and suggestions for success, and become involved in community services projects.
Membership is required and costs $10 annually. Email: RSO.NursingStudent@msu.edu or Instagram: @MSUNSA for more information.
SAC and College Governance
The Student Advisory Council (SAC) provides feedback on behalf of students to the Dean, faculty and administration. Members of the council provide input on matters related to the college’s academic programs and student welfare. The SAC also plans activities such as service projects throughout the year.
A call for nominations is sent out each February. To get involved, contact Carol Vermeesch.
Sigma Theta Tau
Sigma Theta Tau, the honor society of nursing, supports the learning and professional development of members who strive to improve nursing care. Membership is by invitation to students of nursing baccalaureate programs, nursing graduate study programs, and community leaders meeting eligibility requirements.
Visit their website or Facebook page to learn more.
MSU MICNP
Have a voice as a Michigan NP. The Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners (MICNP) and the MICNP MSU Student Chapter focus on promoting a healthy Michigan through advocacy, understanding, development and supporting the image of the NP as a leader in the health care community.
Learn more online or by emailing the chapter.
Doctoral Nurses Association
The Doctoral Nurses Association (DNA) provides an avenue for doctoral students in the College of Nursing to interact and support one another both academically and socially. Membership is free for all PhD and DNP students. The DNA organizes various social and academic events to foster interaction among doctoral students encouraging productivity and scholarship.
