Education, Certification, and Experience:

For over 25 years, I've dedicated myself to being a family nurse Practitioner. My journey began at Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where I earned my BSN in 1984. Continuing my education, I obtained both my MSN (1995) and PhD (2011) from Michigan State University, College of Nursing. Becoming a certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in 1995 marked a pivotal moment in my career, allowing me to provide care in diverse primary care settings, from rural to urban, and urgent care. Currently, I'm honored to serve as an associate professor in the College of Nursing at Michigan State University while practicing at MSU Healthcare Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner clinic. In 2023, I was humbled to be inducted as a Fellow into the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, a testament to my commitment to advancing nursing excellence.

Career Highlights:

I have conducted research and published several manuscripts related to self-management of chronic disorders, exploring how one condition can impact another, with a particular focus on Diabetes and Cancer. Partnering with my patients is central to my approach, as we work together to develop mutual strategies aimed at managing their health effectively and achieving the best possible outcomes. This collaborative approach emphasizes the importance of patient empowerment and personalized care in achieving optimal health and well-being.
