Meet Your Hosts:

Kathy Bobay, MSU MSN ‘94, is a dedicated Spartan Nurse who served as vice president of the MSU College of Nursing Alumni Board for many years. She also established the Carol J. Larson Endowed Scholarship in honor of her mother, which supports MSU CON PhD students. In 2020, Kathy was recognized with the college's Distinguished Alumni Award for her advancements to the nursing profession through research. She is currently a professor at the Loyola University Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health.

Michael Martel is an Assistant Professor in the MSU College of Nursing. A proud two‑time Spartan Nurse, he earned his MSN in 2018 and DNP in 2021 and is a board‑certified Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (AGCNS‑BC). His work centers on mental health, nursing self‑care, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. Michael teaches in the undergraduate program, co‑hosts The Spartan Nurse Podcast, and advises the MSU chapter of the American Association for Men in Nursing (AAMN).

Anthonie Burke is the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the College of Nursing. Since joining in 2024, Anthonie has been an enthusiastic leader in fostering relationships with alumni and supporters. He is deeply committed to supporting the college’s mission of advancing the health of individuals and communities.
