College of Nursing Homecoming Parade Float

We are going all out for our 75th anniversary! Join the College of Nursing in the Homecoming Parade. We are seeking alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends to participate in the parade along with the College of Nursing float!
HAVE A COOL DESIGN IDEA?
We want to hear it! There is a section in the registration form (click button above) where you can share your vision. If you are not able to attend, but still want to share your ideas, please fill out the registration form and click "no" for the question on attendance, or email your ideas to College of Nursing Alumni Coordinator Clarice Sheedlo at sheedloc@msu.edu.
CON PARADE PARTICIPANTS DETAILS:
WAYS TO ROLL WITH US IN THE PARADE
- Walk/roll along the float and help hand out stickers!
- Help carry the banner! We are seeking several participants to alternate between carrying a banner and walking along with the float.
- Wear a vintage uniform! We are looking for two students to wear MSU nursing student uniforms from the 1960s. Both uniforms are estimated to be around a size small.
- Showcase our simulation practice on the road! The focal point of the float will be a hospital bed with a low-fidelity manikin. We are seeking three MSU Nursing students to wear their MSU scrubs and go through simulations throughout the parade while standing on the float.
PARTICIPANT ARRIVAL
Parade participants should plan to arrive at the staging area near East Lansing Hannah Community Center on Friday October 10 at 4:45pm. More information will be shared with participants during the week of.
We encourage you to allow extra time with parking and traffic. Please refer to the Homecoming FAQs for parking instructions.
PARADE ATTIRE
Represent your College of Nursing in your best green-and-white gear! MSU scrubs and white coats are welcome as well.
PARADE ROUTE
The parade route works its way through downtown East Lansing and the MSU campus. The total distance is approximately 1 ½ miles and takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete. View Homecoming Parade Route Map.
