During her tenure and leadership (2018 - 2023), Dr. Weglicki, was responsible for the financial operations, budgeting, leadership, planning, and growth focused on advancing nursing education, innovation, research, philanthropy, practice and community engagement. Lynn College of Nursing. Early in her academic career, she was an Assistant Professor at Wayne State University, College of Nursing, and taught in undergraduate to doctoral programs.  Her passion to advance nursing research and science led her to the National Institutes of Health, where she served as chief for the Office of Extramural Programs, Division of Extramural Science Programs, and as a health scientist administrator at the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR).  At the division of NINR Offices of Extramural Programs, she was responsible for guiding the strategic vision, priorities, and scientific portfolios through cutting edge funding opportunities that would advance transformative nursing science and translational discovery. Most recently, Dr. Weglicki has been an administrative and research consultant for the Wayne State University College of Nursing and Grand Valley State University’s Kirkhof College of Nursing.

Her publications and program of research have focused on team science and community-based methods to promote health and reduce health risk and risk behaviors, including tobacco prevention and cessation, effects of air pollution on chronic illness, breast and prostate cancer screening, and promoting health of young mothers and infants in diverse populations. Dr. Weglicki is a strong and passionate advocate for state and federal support for nursing and the nursing profession. She has held leadership roles and positions on a number of professional nursing organizations, such as the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), the Council for Advancement of Nursing Science (CANS), Midwest Nursing Research Society (MNRS), South Carolina Dean and Directors, and as an Ambassador of the Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research (FNINR).
