Dean Rasch named an American Academy of Nursing fellow (FAAN)

Michigan State University College of Nursing Dean Randolph F.R. Rasch will be a part of the latest class of fellows to be inducted into the American Academy of Nursing at its virtual conference this October.

Fellows are selected based on their contributions to advancing the public’s health. Induction into the academy is a significant milestone in a nurse leader’s career in which their accomplishments are honored by their colleagues within the profession. Rasch is just one of three inductees this year from Michigan.

"It is certainly an honor to be selected as a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing," Rasch said. "But I think of it more about as the work that can be done, and as an opportunity to leverage the work that I have always been involved with in accomplishing the mission of the academy."

The academy currently consists of 2,700 fellows from across the world and hundreds of applications are reviewed each year. In all, this year's class consists of 230 fellows.

In addition to this honor, Rasch is also a fellow in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
