Study Abroad
For over 30 years, the College of Nursing has offered the Nursing in London study abroad program. The five-credit program compares nursing education, practice, and healthcare policy in the United Kingdom and the United States with emphasis on nursing’s historical development. Nursing history is also a key component of the program, and students have the opportunity to visit Florence Nightingale’s home and grave, among other historical sites.
The program offers students the chance to learn from British nurse educators, practitioners and officials. In addition, students will be able to observe in a variety of clinical settings.
This program is open to nursing students from colleges and universities throughout the United States who have completed their first-level clinical nursing courses comparable to such courses at Michigan State University.
The Nursing in London study abroad program is offered annually.
