Scholarship recipients are joining the fight!
Through scholarship support made possible by donors, the financial burden of tuition and resources was lessened for recent graduates Stephanie Castillo and Andrew Suzio.
They are now entring the nursing workforce at its most critical time. Their sincere message to donors can be found below.
Andrew Suzio, BSN '21 - Sergeant Leonard B. Graham Endowed Nursing Scholarship
Dear Donor,
I accepted a position with Munson Healthcare in Traverse City within their critical care residency program. The residency is one year of follow-on training, preceptorship, and independent nursing designed to sling shot new nurses into the fast-paced environment of critical care.
My goal is to work toward obtaining certification as a critical care registered nurse (CCRN) and eventually go back for CRNA school. This scholarship was in no small part a factor in how well I did in nursing school. It gave me more financial leeway to focus my efforts on my BSN.”
Sincerely,
Andrew Suzio
Stephanie Castillo, BSN '21 - ACCESS Program
Dear Donor,
The ACCESS Program played a huge role throughout my time in nursing school. It means a lot to me to know how much the faculty and graduate assistants care about my success and well-being.
The mentorship and resources provided by the program truly helped me get through it all. After graduation, my goal is to get a job on a stepdown unit in Florida.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Castillo
