Whether you've been in the field for years, or are just starting to lay out your career plans, the Michigan State University College of Nursing has a program for you.

BSN programs

We offer three routes to getting your BSN:

Traditional BSN
For first-degree undergraduate students. This full-time, six-semester option is designed for students who have completed a minimum of 28 credits and required prerequisite courses. 

Accelerated second degree BSN
For students already holding a bachelor's degree or higher in another field. Those who have already earned a bachelor's degree or higher in another field are eligible to earn a bachelor of science in nursing on an accelerated timetable in this full-time, 15-month option.

BSN for registered nurses (RN-BSN)
For registered nurses holding an associate's degree or diploma in nursing and currently holding an unrestricted RN license. This web-based option offers flexibility for registered nurses who seek to earn a bachelor of science in nursing. The program includes clinical practice in community health and leadership at sites convenient to students.

MSN and DNP programs

We currently offer four concentrations in our MSN program:

• Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist 
• Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
• Family Nurse Practitioner
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

We also offer five concentrations in our DNP program:

• Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist 
• Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
• Family Nurse Practitioner
• Nurse Anesthesia 
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

In addition, we offer a post-master's opton for DNP students.

Ph.D. program

The Ph.D. in Nursing is for those nurse scientists who wish to advance their career – and the profession – through research and evidence-based nursing practice.
